Residential Cruising

Are pets allowed on Fabled Voyages?

Fabled Voyages is not a cruise. It is a home at sea where residents can live long term, shape the journey together, and explore the world as a community.

Yes, pets are allowed.

Fabled Voyages is designed to welcome pets as part of everyday life on board. Unlike other residential cruises, Fabled Voyages is a community where long term living includes your animal companions, not separation from them.

Below is a complete and transparent overview of our animal policies, written to answer the exact questions people search for when considering life at sea with a pet.

Our philosophy on pets at sea

At Fabled Voyages, we believe a home should feel whole. For many residents, that includes a dog or cat who has been part of their daily routine for years. Our approach to pets reflects our broader philosophy of residential living rather than short term travel.

Pets are not treated as an exception or novelty. They are considered residents of the ship alongside their owners, with policies built around safety, comfort, hygiene, and long term wellbeing.

This philosophy places Fabled Voyages firmly within the category of true residential cruise ships, alongside established names such as Villa Vie Residences and The World. However, where others often treat pet ownership as an exception, Fabled Voyages approaches it as a core part of residential life.

Villa Vie Residences currently permits cats on board but does not allow dogs, reflecting a more limited view of long term pet living at sea.

The World does allow pets, but only through strict case by case approval, often requiring the use of dedicated kennels, controlled access to shared spaces, and highly specific health and logistical arrangements.

Fabled Voyages takes a more holistic and resident centered approach. Rather than isolating pets or restricting ownership to narrow circumstances, our policies are designed around everyday routines, shared responsibility, and thoughtful integration into life on board. The goal is not simply to allow pets, but to support a stable, realistic, and humane environment where animals are genuinely part of the community, just as they are in a land based home.

What types of pets are allowed on Fabled Voyages

Fabled Voyages currently welcomes cats and dogs that meet size, health, and behavior requirements.

  • Cats are permitted up to approximately 20 pounds or 9 kilograms.
  • Dogs are permitted up to approximately 40 pounds or 18 kilograms.

These limits are in place to ensure that shared spaces, residences, and emergency procedures remain safe and manageable for everyone on board, including the animals themselves.

All pets must be suitable for communal living and capable of adapting to a residential ship environment.

Fees associated with bringing a pet on board

Because Fabled Voyages is designed for long term living, pet related fees are structured differently than on short cruises.

There is a one time, non refundable pet deposit of approximately 1000 US dollars per pet. This supports preparation, deep cleaning standards, and onboard readiness.

There is also a monthly pet fee of approximately 130 US dollars per month. This fee helps cover ongoing cleaning protocols, designated pet areas, and operational care considerations related to long term animal residency.

Any additional fees required by specific countries during port entry or import processes are the responsibility of the resident, as regulations vary by destination.

Health and vaccination requirements

To protect the health of all residents, both human and animal, pets must meet established health and vaccination standards before boarding.

These include up to date vaccinations, veterinary health documentation, and compliance with international travel requirements that apply during port stops.

Certain destinations have country specific rules for animals entering their borders. These regulations may involve documentation checks, temporary restrictions, or additional fees. Fabled Voyages works to plan routes thoughtfully, but compliance with local laws is mandatory.

Onboard veterinary care and pet services

Fabled Voyages plans for onboard veterinary support as part of long term life at sea.

This may include routine checkups, urgent care coordination, and grooming services when permitted under local port regulations. Availability can vary depending on itinerary and regional rules, but the goal is to support responsible pet ownership throughout the journey.

Residents should view onboard veterinary services as supplemental support rather than a replacement for comprehensive long term planning for their pet’s health.

Pet friendly spaces and daily routines

Life on board is designed to feel familiar, even with the ocean outside your window.

Fabled Voyages includes designated pet friendly areas, open air walking spaces, and thoughtful routines that help animals adjust to life at sea. These spaces are planned to balance freedom for pets with comfort and cleanliness for the wider community.

Pets remain part of their owner’s daily rhythm, from morning walks to quiet evenings in their private residence. The goal is not to disrupt life, but to extend it seamlessly into a global setting.

Behavioral expectations and community standards

Because Fabled Voyages is a shared residential environment, pets must meet basic behavioral standards.

Animals should be non aggressive, manageable in shared spaces, and comfortable around other people and pets. Excessive noise, uncontrolled behavior, or repeated disruptions may result in additional requirements or restrictions.

These standards exist to protect the experience of all residents, including fellow pet owners.

Traveling internationally with pets

One of the most common questions we receive is how international travel works with animals.

As a residential cruise ship, Fabled Voyages plans itineraries well in advance and communicates upcoming requirements clearly. However, international pet regulations are complex and vary by country.

Some ports may require additional documentation, temporary onboard stays, or specific import fees. In rare cases, local rules may limit shore access for pets. These realities are part of responsible global travel with animals, and we believe transparency is essential.

Why our pet policy is different from traditional cruises

Traditional cruises are built around short stays and rapid passenger turnover. Pets are typically excluded because the systems are not designed for long term care or routine.

Fabled Voyages is fundamentally different. We are a floating residential community. Pets are integrated into planning, operations, and culture from the start.

This is similar to how established residential ships like The World and newer residential concepts approach life on board, where residents are building a lifestyle rather than booking a vacation.

A home at sea that includes your pet

For many people exploring residential cruising, the question is not whether they want to travel. It is whether they can do so without leaving part of their life behind.

At Fabled Voyages, pets are not an afterthought. They are part of the vision of a stable, global home where routines, relationships, and responsibilities continue, just with a changing horizon.

Our animal policies are designed with care, realism, and long term living in mind. As the ship progresses toward launch and operations evolve, specific details may be refined, but our commitment to transparency and responsible pet inclusion remains constant.

For the most current and binding details, residents should always review the official Terms and Conditions and speak directly with the Fabled Voyages team.

Living at sea should feel like living. For many of us, that means living with our pets.
